Portland, Oregon of Multnomah County is the largest city in the state. The urban part of Portland hosts renowned restaurants, art exhibits, the world’s largest independent bookstore, among many other attractions. Outside the urban area lies a vast rural space consisting of rivers like the Columbia, which flows around Sauvie Island, a large area where riverside beaches and greenspaces are plentiful. To the southwest of the island, among the rolling hills and rural roads, away from the bustling city center, is where our story takes place.
Skyline School is located in these rolling hills, and it overlooks the Tualatin Valley and Northwest Portland. This small school is where Kyron Horman attended. The little boy, known for his shyness and his love of the outdoors went to school early on June 4, 2010, to attend the science fair. During the frenzied morning of parents visiting the exhibits and seeing their kids off to class, Kyron never made it to his classroom. The 7-year-old boy had vanished.
Local and state police and the FBI conducted an exhaustive search. Their search for the boy led a criminal investigation, but instead of a suspect being apprehended, the public watched as the boy’s family fell apart, rumours swirled, and dramatic court proceedings stole attention away from the missing child…
Despite the criminal investigation, no suspects have been officially declared, charges have never been laid, and significant information regarding Kyron Horman’s whereabouts has never come to light…
